With no rest for the weary, the fourth quarter meeting in Atlanta promises to be very full as we hammer out the details of some of the key video empowering work, WT-126 is of particular interest, and build on the various TRs that are anticipated to be approved this final meeting of 2006.

Upcoming Plugfest Information
Mark your calendars! The DSL Forum will be sponsoring an Interoperability Test Event in the fourth quarter of 2006:
The strong response from the First VDSL2 Systems Integrator Plugfest has accelerated VDSL2 plugfest activity in Q406/Q107 with
three successive test events. The 4th and 5th DSL Forum VDSL2 Chip Vendor
Interoperability plugfests, to be held the weeks of November 28th 2006 and
January 29th 2007, respectively, will allow VDSL2 chip vendors to further
improve the interoperability of their VDSL2 implementations. System
Integrators will again have an opportunity to demonstrate and debug their VDSL2 products at the 2nd DSL Forum VDSL2 Systems Integrator Plugfest, to be held the week of February 26th, 2007.
The upcoming release of Amendment 1 to DSL Forum TR-069 has spurred demand
for more testing. The 4th DSL Forum TR-069 Interoperability Plugfest will be successful protocol and help industry leaders drive the interoperability of
their TR-069 CPE and Auto-Configuration Servers.
These events will be held at the University of New Hampshire's
InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) group testing facility located in Durham, NH, USA. DSL Forum Plugfests are open to all DSL Forum members. Marketing Committee Update BroadbandSuiteTM Launch Report

With a goal of improving our communication of each TR's scope and relation to the full body of TRs, the BroadbandSuite initiative was launched this past quarter at Broadband World Forum Americas in Vancouver, BC and at Broadband World Forum Europe in Paris, France. Using active public relations outreach, educational booths, and speaker panels, the team delivered the message widely, and it was well received. The way forward is now set! Message from the Chair - Lynn Merrill, OPASTCO
At the SPAC meeting in Atlanta, we have included a new session, "Profile of a Service Provider" to highlight a single service provider each meeting. With this session we hope to get a deeper understanding of that service provider's broadband program, its vision for the future, and where it sees issues and opportunities for the DSL Forum to assist in reaching their network goals. - In his role as CTO of BellSouth, Bill is responsible for setting the technology direction of BellSouth's core infrastructure. His department includes, network and operations technology, Internet Protocol (IP) applications, next generation strategy as well as BellSouth Entertainment, LLC. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Alliance for Telecommunications Solutions (ATIS), a Washington, D.C. based technical planning and standards organization serving the telecommunications industry. He is also an active participant in National and International Telecommunications Standards.

DSL Forum Recognition Program and Awards
The DSL Forum recognizes the exceptional contributions, leadership duties, and achievements through its quarterly recognition program. The awards categories are as follows: Circle of Excellence, Outstanding Contributor Award, Outstanding Service Awardand Lifetime Achievement Award.
At the third quarter meeting in Athens, Greece the DSL Forum awarded the Circle of Excellence Award to Christele Bouchat (Alcatel) and an Outstanding Service Award to former DSLHome Tech Chair, Wayne Daniel (Siemens).
The third quarter 2006 Circle of Excellence Award was presented to Christele Bouchat (Alcatel) for outstanding work and active participation in WT-087/TR-069 standardization and consistent contributions in the DSLHome Technical working group since 2003. Her contribution efforts have influenced WT-087/TR-069, TR-098, WT-121 implementation guidelines, WT-122, WT-107, WT-116, WT-123, TR-104, TR-106, TR-111, and WT-142. Christele has proactively volunteered for many tasks and works well with other members to collaborate on contributions. She is also the co-editor of WT-107 and WT-142 and has represented the DSL Forum at ITU workshops. To read more about Ms. Bouchat, please click here.
The Outstanding Service Award was presented to Wayne Daniel (Siemens) in recognition of his dedicated service as DSLHome Technical Working Group Co-Chair.
