Broadband Forum unveils agenda for next Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe)
CityFibre, Google, SK Broadband, and Telus join world-class line-up of pioneers and industry luminaries as speakers
Las Vegas, United States, October 10, 2018: Cutting-edge innovations and lessons learned from the companies that are leading disruption in the communications industry will be on display at the Broadband Forum’s latest Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe) series at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
The fifth event in the highly successful BASe series promises to be the largest and most insightful yet, with service provider insights shared by CityFibre, Google, SK Broadband, Telus, and others. Updates on pioneering technologies and solutions will be given by the breadth of the broadband ecosystem, ranging from established players like Arris, Calix, Corning, Huawei, Nokia, and Zyxel to a host of newcomers leading innovation in areas such as 5G transport and millimeter wave technologies, NG-PON2, Gfast, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the access network and connected home. Topics will be broken into four segments covering all aspects of broadband design, implementation and maintenance, from the central office to the cloud to the Connected Home. The previous seminars have been attended by more than 1,000 people, and with top speakers featured in the just-released agenda, the seminar in Las Vegas promises to take the BASe series to new heights.
Seminars like BASe are essential, not only as reference points for the current state of the industry, but as mechanisms that stimulate collaboration and innovation from participants and act as a catalyst in realizing the huge potential of 5G, the cloud and virtualization. As a premier educational event for the broadband industry, BASe provides an invaluable opportunity to learn from industry experts about where the market is heading and what challenges lie on the road ahead.
BASe Las Vegas – which will take place at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 28 – will begin with Kunstler’s keynote which will set the stage for the remaining line-up to delve deeper into a range of critical topics, including 10Gbps broadband, NGPON2, fiber extension, cloud services, the connected home and 5G. Broadband Forum CEO Robin Mersh will also share updates on the Broadband Forum’s innovative work areas and provide insight into the development of its work in building standards, reference architectures, and data models for the future of the broadband industry. 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), developments in the Forum’s Cloud Central Office (CloudCO), Software Defined Access, User Services Platform (USP) and Open Broadband projects will be among the ongoing work explored.
