Based on availability, the discounted rate is offered three (3) days prior (February 25, 2020) and post (March 9, 2020) of the scheduled room block. BBF Discounted Room Rates:
- 155 EUR Single (=142.21 room rate + 12.79 taxes & fees)
- 165 EUR Double (=151.38 room rate +13.62 taxes & fees)
This room rate includes 18% VAT and 4% city tax. A buffet breakfast and in-room internet access is also included within the room rate.
Individuals are responsible for all sleeping room charges and reservations must be guaranteed by individual’s credit card at the time of booking. No reservation deposit will be charged to the individual’s credit card.
- Reservations cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival will not be charged a cancellation fee.
- Any reservation cancelled after 24 hours prior to arrival cutoff or no shows will forfeit the cost of one-night room plus applicable tax and service fees.

Visas cannot be obtained at the border or airport. The average time to obtain a Visa is four (4) weeks, however this will vary depending on location. Please be aware that each country has different requirements as to how to apply for a Visa. Please check with your local consulate to get the most accurate information about obtaining a Visa for your specific country of residence.

The Board and Staff would like you to know that we are closely monitoring the developing situation regarding the coronavirus. At this time, there are no government or WHO advisories regarding travel to Budapest or Europe therefore we are continuing to plan and prepare for the Q1 Annual face-to-face meeting on March 2-5 2020 in Budapest, Hungary.
We will continue to monitor the situation, sending weekly updates to our Memgen mailing list with how we plan to manage the Q1 Budapest meeting.
We will provide a remote participation option for all Work Areas for this meeting. Please do note that we understand participation in the meeting is much more effective if you are physically present, and the meetings will not be delayed or cancelled due to technical difficulties with remote access, so is it strongly recommended that members attend in-person, if possible.
We are working with the Budapest Marriott hotel to ensure the CDC and WHO prevention guidance is followed by:
- Providing a bottle of hand sanitizer for each meeting room, near the restrooms and at the reg desk
- Having boxes of tissues for each meeting room, extras at the reg desk and trash cans at the rear of each meeting room for safe disposal
- We’ll have a few facemasks on hand at the reg desk and information on how to get in contact with the hotel in-house doctor, if needed
- And we will have a hand sanitizer station setup before the food buffet line

- The drive from the BUD airport to the hotel is estimated to take about 35 minutes.
- A taxi from the airport to the Budapest Marriott Hotel costs approximately 47 EUR.
Taxi transport in Budapest:
Licensed cabs are yellow, have yellow license plates, and are marked “Licensed Budapest Taxi” on the driver’s door. All fares are licensed: the minimum fare is HUF 700, the standard fare is HUF 300 per kilometer, and there is a waiting charge of HUF 75 per minute. Cash and bank cards are both accepted. Make sure to get the receipt printed by the taximeter at the end of your journey so that you can check whether the licensed fares have been applied, and to ensure a swift remedy for whatever complaint you

Directions from the hotel staff: Take Ferihegy Freeway and Ulloi Road to Kálvin Square. Turn right and drive along straight towards ‘centrum’, all lights straight until the sign for the Chain Bridge on Erzsébet ter. That will lead you to the Széchenyi (Roosevelt) Square (circular way towards the bridge). Take inner lane and follow signs to the hotel into the street between two hotels.
All attendees must check-in at the Broadband Forum desk in the hotel to receive meeting materials and name badge.
