Senior Marketing Manager/Marketing Director

The Senior Marketing Manager / Director is responsible for the delivery of all Broadband Forum (BBF) tactical planning and delivery marketing activities. This position works directly with BBF’s members and Broadband Acceleration Seminars (BASE) sponsors. An experienced marketeer that’s part of a small team environment that is focused on delivering the needs of our members and sponsors that requires flexibility, organizational skills and a “can do attitude” within a defined budget.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to advise and deliver across the whole marketing mix including content marketing, events marketing (in-person and virtual) , member and sponsor lead generation, digital marketing and social media. Working as a marketing and commercial thought leader perspective while working closely with technical thought leaders. Work is based at home, but periodic international travel (to industry conferences, strategy meetings and Broadband Forum members’ meetings) is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Creation, management and fulfillment of an annual marketing plan that aligns with membership recruitment, BASe sponsor needs and promotion of published and ongoing BBF work. In addition to generate subset marketing programs and campaigns for specific work areas.
  • Close interworking skills with sales, diverse marketing and thought leadership team, sponsor companies and executive management in driving the BASe events program from planning to delivery
  • Events marketing experience including major ‘in-person’ industry conferences and workshops as well as a series of virtual events and webinars. Working closely with subject matter experts, sponsors and third party conference owners.
  • Working closely with the Director of Membership to drive targeted lead generation campaigns and recruitment throughout the sales/membership process.
  • Proven ability within a technical marketing focused function (telecoms specific experience a bonus) in driving industry specific topics and working closely with technology experts and outsourced PR agencies.
  • Content marketing expertise to work closely with technical and creative writers in focusing and delivering a library of digital and written content that promotes the BBF focus, work and direction.
  • Driving digital marketing including website and social media from a focus and strategic direction.
  • Experience working with creative marketing agencies to generate clear and exciting content and messaging for the wider telecoms industry.
  • Logistical and contractual support of BBF global demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, business or technology, Master’s degree a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing within multiple fields relevant to the skill set listed above.
  • Experience in telecoms or a standards organization marketing function is a distinct benefit.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills required. Must be proficient with tracking and executing multiple unrelated projects in parallel. Able to prioritize and deliver results in a dynamic work environment.
  • A creative and marketing flair.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record in events, traditional and digital marketing.
  • Appreciates working within a small dynamic team with a ‘can do’ attitude.
