Member Support Manager

Description

The Member Support Manager is responsible for supporting the processes and the tools used by Broadband Forum (BBF) members as they develop industry specifications and documentation. This position works directly with BBF’s members, staff, and vendors in a small team environment that requires flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to “wear multiple hats.” The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a global business environment, proficient at editing and copywriting and with publishing tools, and familiar with online collaborative tools’ use and administration. Work is based at home, but periodic international travel (to Broadband Forum members’ meetings) is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Specifications development and publication: work with membership to develop documents in accordance with BBF processes, using approved templates, styles, and content guidelines; pre-publication review and editing; publish documentation online; maintain the historical record of all work.
  • Meetings support: administer virtual meetings, calendars, and meeting invitation sharing; assist BBF leadership with setting up meetings and conference calls; provide member support at both virtual and face-to-face meetings.
  • Test and certification support: work with members and test labs to ensure certification processes are correctly followed; generate and deliver accurate certification documentation to the appropriate parties; publish certification results to the website.
  • Tools support: support members on the use of BBF’s collaborative tools (Confluence, Jira, Zoom, Calendar, etc); provide tools training to new members as needed; provide tools support for new projects; administer member access, email lists, and group membership; document and maintain member-facing content; work with BBF’s hosting company to support tools configuration, licensing, and maintenance.
  • Website: help maintain and update BBF’s public website.
  • Policy and process support: Work with BBF leadership to maintain organization’s policies and processes and keep them aligned with practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years’ experience in one or more fields relevant to the skill set listed above.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills required. Must be proficient with tracking and executing multiple unrelated projects in parallel. Able to prioritize and deliver results in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Editing and/or copywriting experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally, including valid passport.
  • Atlassian tools, WordPress, and InDesign experience a plus.
  • Standards development and/or non-profit experience a plus.
