Meeting Registration

The pre-meeting registration is now closed please contact to register for this meeting.

The meeting fee was due on or before: Monday, June 4, 2018.

Meeting Fee:

  • $450 USD for Principal and Associate Members to attend general and committee meetings.
  • $310 USD for Principal and Associate Members to attend general and committee meetings for ONE day.
  • $310 USD for Auditing Members to attend Summit, Plenary, and General Sessions Only.
(The meeting fees include lunch and are for all attendees including those staying in the hotel.)

Late Fee:
  • There will be a $100 USD late fee for those that register after the Monday, June 4, 2018 deadline.
  • For those registered before Monday, June 4, 2018, but WITHOUT PAYMENT, your registration will be considered late if payment is not received before the June 4th deadline.

Refund Policy:

  • Cancellations received on or before Monday, June 4: FULL REFUND
  • Cancellations received after Monday, June 4: 50% REFUND

Hotel Reservations

It is now past the hotel reservation deadline, however the hotel has agreed to continue accepting reservations on an as needed bases.  Please email if you would like to make a reservation at the New Otani Osaka. 

**Please be reminded that it is vital that you book your rooms at the hotel that the Forum has contracted with, failure to do so puts the Forum in financial jeopardy.**

Based on availability, the discounted group rate is offered three (3) days prior ( 5 June 2018) and post (18 June 2018) of the scheduled room block.  If you plan to stay over late or arrive early, please note that the reservation system may not allow you to book online.  Please go ahead and make your reservation for the available dates and then email us at and we will request an extension on your behalf.

BBF Discounted Room Rates:
  • Single Occupancy Room 16,000 JPY
  • Double Occupancy Room 18,000 JPY
  • Triple Occupancy Room 24,000 JPY

The discount room rates with taxes and service fees should reflect the below amounts:

  • Single Occupancy Room 19,208 JPY
  • Double Occupancy Room 21,384 JPY
  • Triple Occupancy Room 28,512 JPY
Hotel New Otani Osaka Reservation Cancellation Policy:

Reservations cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival will receive a full refund of their deposit.  Any reservation cancelled after 24 hours prior to arrival or no shows will forfeit one night’s room and tax revenue.

Note: If reservations are made with a travel agency, the Broadband Forum will not be able to assist in adjusting room rates as the hotel has special agreements with each travel agency. For the Broadband Forum to get involved, you must make your reservations as stated above.

Joint Workshop between Broadband Forum, FSAN and ITU-T Q2/15

  • Current interactions between BBF and FSAN/ITU-T and expectations going forward
  • Operators NG-PON deployment plans
  • Future access management across PON
  • ONU Certification (TR-247/OISG?) (and OLT interoperability) and it’s expansion to NG-PON
  • vOLT standardisation and the Broadband Access Abstraction program at the BBF
  • PON convergence efforts in the industry

Visas cannot be obtained at the border or airport. The average time to obtain a Visa is four (4) weeks, however this will vary depending on location. Please be aware that each country has different requirements as to how to apply for a Visa. Please check with your local consulate to get the most accurate information about obtaining a Visa for your specific country of residence.

Kansai International Airport (KIX) - 33 miles / 53 km
The drive from the KIX airport to the hotel is estimated to take about 60 minutes.
