The BASe workshop at Fiber Connect 2022 will be split into four sessions:
Session 1: Future of Fiber Access Technology Investment (60 minutes) 12:30-13:30
Session focused on understanding the technology options from todays’ GPON to XGS-PON and beyond to 25Gig, 50Gig and 100Gig. In addition we would look at how the Hybrid of multiple PON and fiber access technologies co-exist to deliver services for different subscriber and operator’s business needs plus new alternative approaches to single and multi-vendor solutions.

Session 2: Future Fiber Access Technology Use Cases and Best Practices (13:45-14:45)
What are the use cases these technical fiber access advancements from XGS-PON to 100g PON make and service enablement opportunities for residential, business and mobile backhaul. A deeper evaluation of the technology options and how they can deliver new services beyond simply “bigger and faster”. Furthermore evaluating the best practices and lessons learnt from evolving your network past GPON.

Session 3: FTTP and “In-Building” Connectivity Options (15:00-16:00)
This session will focus on all the connectivity options available once you have driven Fiber to the most economical point and the building. Looking at the multi-gigabit technology options, advancements and supporting open standards for multi-vendor and technology interoperability within the broadband ecosystem. Covering technologies such as Fiber-to-the-room, next generation managed Wi-Fi, and reutilizing existing building copper infrastructure with Coax, G.hn and Gfast.
