Broadband Forum vOMCI Plugfest

The UNH-IOL is hosting the Broadband Forum’s vOMCI plugfest, running from May through September 2023. The plugfest is anticipated to function in a hybrid model, including both remote and on-site participants.

Testing will focus on implementations of the Broadband Forum’s TR-451 vOMCI specification and products implementing those interfaces, such as:

• vOLT-MF Software
• vOMCI stacks
• physical OLTs (pOLT)
• physical ONUs (pONU)

During the plugfest, the UNH-IOL will host the cloud software components (i.e., the vOLT-MF and vOMCI stacks), along with physical equipment (i.e., pOLT and pONU devices). Event participants will be provided with remote access to the laboratory via VPN connections, allowing participant teams to remotely coordinate and perform testing between their implementations. Participants are also welcome to travel to the UNH-IOL to help setup, install, and kick of the testing for the event, but no specific dates will be required for such activities. Similarly, participants wishing to only ship equipment to the lab site may do so, provided they provide the documentation required to setup and on board their equipment and software into the plugfest testbed. Options also exist for participants to maintain their physical equipment remotely, in their company lab sites, provided they accept additional requirements on VPN connectivity for that equipment to reach the plugfest testbed hosted at the UNH-IOL site.

Participation in the plugfest is open to all Broadband Forum member companies.
