XGS-PON is rapidly replacing GPON as the network operator access technology of choice with the fast expansion of Telco greenfield and brownfield and Cable operators’ greenfield deployments. In addition, network operators are assuring any investment is ready for future commercially available PON advancements and the future possibility of virtualizing some network elements.
