BBF.398 Grade Wi-Fi

BBF.398 Grade Wi-Fi

The BBF.398 Grade Wi-Fi program represents a first of its kind testing program for Wi-Fi devices.  The program, based on the Broadband Forum’s TR-398 test plan measures a Wi-Fi AP device’s performance against a set of absolute requirements developed by service providers around the world.

Devices meeting the mandatory requirements of the TR-398 performance test plan are eligible for inclusion in the listings below.

The TR-398 test plan provides testing coverage for RF Performance, Coverage, Capacity & Bandwidth, and Stability / Robustness.  A minimum set of test cases ensures all BBF.398 Grade Wi-Fi devices meet a minimum performance bar needed by operators rolling out carrier grade services to their subscribers.  Additionally, optional features, such as 160 MHz channels or MU-MIMO downlink performance enable best in class products to differentiate their capabilities.
