Touching BASe in 2023
Touching BASe in 2023
Bernd Hesse, Broadband Forum Chief Marketing Officer & Marketing and BASe Chair
It was estimated that over 5 billion people used the internet in 2022. With the remaining billions still to be connected, the demand for fast and reliable broadband access will increase significantly as everyday lifestyles such as home working and gaming become even more popular around the globe.
To satisfy consumer needs and requirements, the entire broadband industry is tasked with unlocking the cutting-edge of technologies and best practices to help drive the broadband ecosystem forward. Operators, regulators, and technology innovators need to come together to work with and educate each other.
That’s why the Broadband Forum is focused on accelerating broadband innovation, standards, and ecosystem development. Our industry education events provide both essential networking and peer interaction, as well as opportunities to learn and gain insight and direction of the industry. Created by tech leaders for tech innovators, the Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe) series delivers exactly this!
Collaboration and thought leadership
The BASe series has grown rapidly in a truly short time and is now recognized by service providers, analysts and vendors as the leading industry education series globally. Through the BASe series you can join the industry’s leading broadband operators, vendors, and thought leaders who are shaping the future of broadband. It is important for any company in the industry to increase visibility for their own thought leaders, and BASe is the perfect event to do so.
The elements within the series are connecting all of the dots to bring broadband to the next level, ensuring standardization and interoperability. As the demand for more advanced broadband increases, it is important that the industry, not individually but as a group uses its expertise to bring credibility to the work and standards that the industry is producing.
BASe is designed to meet the requirements for more technical discussion, real life implementations, testing and strategic technical planning, as well as valuable peer-to-peer networking. This is why it attracts an extremely loyal and growing technical decision-making audience of service providers, industry influencers and a very varied vendor representation from across the globe.
How to get involved
This year, BASe will be focused around three main broadband ecosystem elements: connected user, broadband access, and operator cloud and service delivery. Our members share a passion to enable smarter and faster broadband networks and a thriving broadband ecosystem.
We are offering BASe sponsorship opportunities for companies to reach the elite Broadband Forum membership base and tap into its expansive sphere of influence. As part of our BASe sponsorship, our sponsors are invited to participate in our thought leadership webinar series of events that include perspectives from both service providers and technology leading vendors, solution providers and analysts.
Over the last two years, the Broadband Forum introduced virtual and interactive BASe events known as vBASe to overcome to the obstacles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is exciting that we continue to drive such a high number of attendee registrations and receive a significant amount of post event downloads. Virtual events will continue this year as Broadband Forum will host 12-14 vBASe Webinars and six to seven face-to-face BASe events in 2023!
In 2022, Broadband Forum hosted 16 vBASe events and six face-to-face events, with a global audience of a combined 50 countries coming together to be a part of BASe. You can view more than 30 hours of recorded video content from last year on the Broadband Forum website here.
Our calendar of planned events will offer opportunities to participate in our successful vBASe webinar series, as well as BASe physical events including our own BASe Technical summit (formerly known as UFBB) in association with partner leading industry events.
